On November 23rd the Compton branch of the County of Los Angeles Public Library sponsored a screen print workshop that was free and open to all ages. Residents learned about the history of screen printing, using water-based inks and printing on a 4 color press. They printed the state of California and Compton Library then added their own artwork to customize their t-shirts. Thanks to all the participants, volunteers and Jose for the great turn-out!
GriffinMade has been awarded a Creative Capacity Fund grant by the Center for Cultural Innovation! The grant will goes towards a collaboration with consultant Ashraf Ahmad to promote the upcoming Artist-Led Workshops at the Florence Avenue Public Library. The first three Artist-Led workshops are part of a pilot program to bring resources to youth in under-served neighborhoods around Los Angeles. With CCI's help, we will attempt to reach out to a greater audience of organizations and artists so we can continue to bring art to neighborhoods in the city. Thank you CCI!
There was a spectacular turnout for the grand opening of East Rancho Dominguez's new library.
